For community footy coaches

Every kid
gets their game.

FootyLens is a sideline app for Aussie Rules, from juniors through youth to seniors — live match stats, fair rotations, a tactical whiteboard and a drill library — built by a volunteer coach who needed it on game day.

Why it exists

Built on the sideline,
for the sideline.

Community footy is powered by volunteer coaches making hundreds of decisions before, during and after every game.

FootyLens began with a simple idea: make it easier to capture the statistics that matter while the game is unfolding. No spreadsheets on Monday night. No tally sheets that disappear into the kit bag. Just a clear picture of what happened, ready to review when the final siren sounds.

But coaching is about more than numbers.

FootyLens has evolved into a practical coaching toolkit that brings match statistics, player rotations, session planning, drills and a digital coaches’ whiteboard together in one place. It supports the way community coaches already work, while reducing the administration that takes their attention away from the team.

For junior coaches, that means helping every player participate, develop and enjoy the game.

For youth coaches, it means connecting individual development with team structure, game understanding and measurable improvement.

For senior coaches, it means clearer performance insights, better-informed decisions and a stronger view of the team across a match and a season.

FootyLens does not tell coaches how to coach. It gives them better tools to observe, organise, review and improve.

What it does

Four lines. One app.

Live match stats

Tap the game as it happens

Quarter-by-quarter scores and team stats, tap-to-record and fully offline-capable. After the siren: a shareable match summary, efficiency numbers, and a parent-friendly celebration image.

Rotations & game time

Fair minutes, managed live

Equal game-time tracking to the second, sin-bin timers that carry across quarters, a coach-defined rotation plan — and a live queue that suggests who comes off and who goes on, line by line.

Tactical whiteboard

Draw it, then play it

A full oval with your actual squad on it. Set structures, sketch curved running patterns, step through frames like an animation, and save the setups you use every week.

Drill library

Training night, sorted

A built-in library of drills with diagrams, written for junior and youth footy — pick by focus, run the session, and spend your planning time coaching instead of searching.

Kids' data, handled like it matters

Your players'
data stays yours.

These are children's names and game records, so FootyLens is deliberately conservative: what parents receive is a static image from the coach — never a hosted link, never an account for a child. The trust boundary stays where it belongs: with you.

Player names are encrypted on your device before they ever sync, and everything works locally first — the cloud is your backup, not your gatekeeper.
